9 Run-time setup

1. Make sure your snmpd.conf file contains the following directive;

     master agentx
   

2. Optionally, create the configuration file. See Configuration file, for detailed instructions on how to do so.
3. Start hostproc as root.

Instructions on how to include hostproc to the system startup sequence are well beyond the scope of this document. Please, refer to the documentation of your GNU/Linux distribution for detailed information on this.
